FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 14-ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team opened the 2021 season Sunday afternoon with a 5-1 win over Roosevelt University at Warrior Athletic Field.

Maxwell Amoako put Tech up 1-0 before doubling up the lead just six minutes later with his second goal of the evening. The Lakers cut the lead in half in the 42
nd minute and appeared to have some momentum heading into intermission, but
Noe Garcia restored the two-goal advantage with a goal in the final minute of the period.
The Warriors added to their lead in the 52
nd minute with a beautiful steal and finish from
Pep Casas while
Marc Junca capped the scoring with 19 seconds to play after heading in a corner from
Dylan Galhardo.
Tech outshot the Lakers 29-3 and held a 15-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Jaume Salvado picked up the win in goal while Garcia tallied a team-best three shots on goal.
Tech (1-0-0) returns to action Wednesday as they host Governors State University. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
