FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 14-ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team defeated Governors State University, 1-0, Wednesday afternoon at Warrior Athletic Field.
After a scoreless first half, the Warriors finally found the back of the net in the 67
th minute after
Maxwell Amoako put one in the top left corner off a pass from
Lucca Motta. This marks Amoako's third goal of the season while Motta picked up his third assist of the year.
The Warriors recorded their first shutout of the season after leading the NAIA in clean sheets last season (14), with
Jaume Salvado making two saves.
Indiana Tech (2-0-0) returns to action Saturday as they travel to Lima, Ohio to take on Vanguard University in the UNOH Showcase. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. from Racer Stadium.
