FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team opened up the 2021 season Saturday evening with a 6-0 win against Indiana University Northwest at Warrior Athletic Field. With the victory, head coach
Jim Lipocky notched his 100
th win while manning the Warriors and the 133
rd of his career.
AnnaBella Kowalczyk notched the first two goals of her collegiate career in the 13
th and 32
nd minute to give Tech a 1-0 and 2-0 lead, with the redshirt sophomore heading in both goals.
Rebeca Delgado and
Kendall Scribner scored three minutes apart in 35
th and 38
th minute, respectively, to give Tech a 4-0 lead heading into the half.
Molly Ames made it a 5-0 game in the 50
th minute while
Bailey Elliott capped the scoring in the 78
th minute as the Warriors scored the most goals since September 10, 2017 when they defeated Manchester University 5-0.
Michaela Bitle made three saves in net to pick up the win while
Alyssa Williams,
Lily Rothert, Elliott,
Alina Garcia and
Molly Ames all notched assists.
Tech (1-0-0) returns to action on Thursday, September 2 as they travel to NCAA Division III foe Anderson University. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. from the AU Soccer Stadium.
