ANDERSON, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team defeated Anderson University, 4-2, Wednesday evening at the Anderson Practice Soccer Field.
The Ravens soared out to a 2-0 lead in the first 12 minutes of the match and appeared geared to run away with in in their season opener. The Warriors reground though, with
Molly Ames cutting the deficit in half in the 30
th minute while
Lily Rothert had the equalizer in the 40
th minute to send the two teams to the locker room all knotted up at 2-2.
Danielle Dunn put Tech on top 92 seconds into the second half while Ames put the game out of reach in the 79
th minute with her second goal of the game and third of the young season.
Michaela Bitle made four saves in goal to pick up the win and was credited with the assist on the game-tying goal from Rothert.
Tech (2-0-0) returns to action Saturday as they travel to Judson University for a nonconference contest. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET from the McHenry Athletic Complex in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
