LIMA, Oh - Indiana Tech women's volleyball sweeps University of Northwestern Ohio 3-0 to improve to 2-0 in WHAC play.Â
Both teams were neck-and-neck in the first set, with the Racers holding a slight lead 8-7 lead over Indiana Tech. The Warriors then gained momentum and scored five points in a row to make it 12-8. After a UNOH Timeout, the Warriors followed a UNOH kill with 4-0 run to make it 15-10. Indiana Tech then went on a 10-3 run to take the set 25-13.
Tech jumped out to a 11-3 lead early on in the second set. UNOH managed to stick around, making it 16-10 about midway through before Tech went on a 9-2 run to win the set 25-12.
The Racers proved to be a tough out in the third set, jumping out to a 2-0 lead before Tech would storm back to make it 5-3 and then trading blows until it was 14-12 in UNOH's favor. Indiana Tech would then score a flurry of points off of Racer errors to take a 18-15 lead. After some more battling back and forth, a kill from
Taylor Paul would seal the victory and the sweep for the Warriors.Â
Emma Westra led the Warriors with 13 kills with a .423 percentage.
Noelle VanOort recorded 6 kills.
Andrea Schriver led the Warriors with 23 assists and 13 digs to go along with 2 kills.Â
The Warriors are back in action on Friday, September 17th where they head to Cornerstone for a 7 p.m. start in Grand Rapids.
