FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team dominated the Rochester Warriors in just three sets on Friday night.
Indiana Tech got out to a 4-0 lead in the first set and never looked back, leading the entire way, with the set ending on blocks by
Taylor Paul and
Madelyn Omo. In second set, it was Rochester that would start off leading the way, 3-1, before Tech would score six consecutive points off of kills by
Havilyn Cummings and
Taylor Paul to go up 7-3. After a bit of back and forth action, it was Tech that would pull away once again, with
Taylor Sorg getting the kill off to put away Rochester, 25-14. The third set was an absolute battle, with teams trading leads up until the very end. With the score being 24-22 in favor of Tech,
Noelle VanOort would seal the deal with a kill to take the set, and the match.
Emma Westra led the team in kills with 13, followed by
Havilyn Cummings with 11 and
Noelle VanOort with 9.
Andrea Schriver led the team in assists with 44.
Jacey Blust led the team in digs with 16.
Madelyn Omo had a nice night as well, with 8 kills and 3 blocks, and scoring 13.5 points.Â
The Warriors (8-8, 4-1 WHAC) y6are back on the court today at 3:00 PM where they will take on the Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech (1-4)Â
