FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Tech men's basketball team protected home court on Wednesday night, earning a hard-fought win over a scrappy Aquinas squad by a final score of 66-56.
The Orange and Black were once again led by their seniors, last night it was
Grant Smith and
Josh Kline, as they combined for 32 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks.
Cory McKinney chipped in 11 points and five boards.
Rog Stein struggled to score his usual load (4pts), but impacted the game with his energy and effort, snagging eight boards, dishing five assists, and picking off the Saints three times.
Indiana Tech dominated inside, out-scoring the Saints 34-20 in points in the paint. That's been the way Tech has gotten things done this season, get the ball inside, let that open up the offense, and make sure to clamp up on the defensive end, that mindset has led to them winning 15 of their last 17 contestss.
That win marks the sixth consecutive for Tech, as they sit atop the WHAC with a 12-2 conference record, 18-6 overall. They'll look ahead to Saturday as they'll host Rochester (16-8, 9-4 WHAC) in what is sure to be a battle at the Schaefer Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
