FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Tech women's basketball team protected home court on Wednesday night, cruising past Aquinas for a 63-38 victory.
The Orange and Black were led by the dynamic duo of
Kyra Whitaker and
Emma Tuominen, as they would combine for 33 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, two blocks, and a steal.
Erika Foy went down with an injury early in the contest, but checked back in and managed to score nine points, grab five rebounds, and swat away two Saint shot-attempts.Â
The Warriors out-rebounded the Saints 38-27, and dominated them inside, scoring 30 points in the paint to their 16. Indiana Tech excelled at capitalizing off of Saint mistakes. As they forced 14 turnovers and turned those into 19 points.Â
With the win, Indiana Tech improves to 14-1 in WHAC play, 2.5 games ahead of the 2nd place Rochester Warriors, and will look ahead to Saturday where they will host those 2nd place Rochester Warriors on Senior Day. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM at the Schaefer Center.Â
