WASHINGTON, Mich. – The women's soccer team traveled to Washington, Michigan, Saturday afternoon to take on the Warriors of Rochester University in a WHAC competition. Two second-half goals for Rochester left Tech on the wrong side of the final 2-1 result.
Tech found the net first with a goal in the 39
th minute from
Jordan Brown-Mundey, assisted by
Alyssa Williams. The goal was one of three shots Tech recorded in the first half. Rochester recorded six first-half shots but could not find the net, giving Tech a 1-0 lead going into the half. Rochester fired eleven shots in the second half, able to find the net twice with a goal in the 63
rd minute from Samantha Johns, assisted by Megan Brown. Their second goal was in the 79
th minute by Teagan Betzold, assisted by Jenna Schodowski. Tech recorded five shots in the second half, while
Michaela Bitle recorded eleven saves on the day.
The Warriors retake the field Wednesday, October 5, when they travel to Lima, Ohio, to take on the UNOH Racers. The Warriors look to secure their first win in the series that dates to 2013.
