FORT WAYNE, Ind – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team hosted Madonna University in the Schaefer Center Friday night. The Crusaders won the first two sets of the night with scores of 25-23 and 25-19 before Tech found their footing in the third, winning 25-17. Madonna closed out the match with a fourth-set win 25-21 over the Warriors.
The Warriors posted a .191 attacking percentage for the night while the Crusaders recorded a .216 percentage. Despite recording more kills in the match (48-41) the Warriors were unable to come out on top.
Emma Westra led the attack for the Warriors posting 15 kills.
Madison Mayes and
Olivia Gessner both served an ace a piece.
Andrea Schriver led the way for the Warriors with 27 assists while Gessner recorded 15 digs.
The women are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, October 14, hosting the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The Warriors are 29-1 against UM-Dearborn, losing only the series opener in 2006. Since that game, the Warriors have won 29 in a row, most recently winning 3-2 on September 16, 2022.
