FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The men's hockey team took on the Cougars of Cleary University in their first conference series of the season. The Warriors traveled to Howell, Michigan, on Friday evening for the first game of the series, winning 4-0 on the road, before returning to Fort Wayne to end the series with a 10-3 victory.
 
The first game took place at the 140 Ice Den in Howell, Michigan. Tech opened the scoring in the first period, scoring three of their four goals in the first. Their fourth goal came in the final period of the night to close the scoring. Four different Warriors found the net in the contest, with goals coming from Colton Nikiforuk, Malik Ali, Timothy Washburn, and Cam Chabot. Assists for the Warriors came from Malik Ali, Avery Smith (2), Cole Barney, Cam Chabot, Pavel Bakhtin, and Alex Potter.
 
Tech was back on their home ice in the second contest at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse, coming out on top with a 10-3 final score. The Warriors scored three goals in the first period, followed by two in the second and five in the third. Scoring for Tech in game two was TJ Dougan (2), Matej Krasny (2), Alex Potter, Malik Ali, Alex Arnold, Avery Smith, Colton Nikiforuk, and Connor Funke. Assists for Tech came from Cole Barney, Avery Smith, Alex Arnold (2), TJ Dougan, Axel Low, Colton Nikiforuk (2), Alex Potter, and Brandon Plummer.
 
The Warriors retake the ice on October 21, hosting Aquinas College for the first of their two-game series. Tech is 10-10-1 in the series, with a 3-4 loss on February 5, 2022, as their latest result.
