FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The women's volleyball hosted the Gray Wolves of Lourdes University Wednesday night in the Schaefer Center. The Warriors had swept the Gray Wolves in their first meeting on September 21, looking for a similar result. However, the Gray Wolves forced five sets this time around. Lourdes won the first set 26-24; Tech picked up sets two and three with scores of 25-21 and 25-16 before dropping set four 14-25. The Warriors closed the night with a 15-11 win in the match's final set.
Noelle VanOort led the Warrior attack with seventeen kills and
Emma Westra with fourteen. Tech served up four aces in the match, with
Kelsey Schaldenbrand leading the team serving three.
Andrea Schriver led the team with twenty-four assists, followed closely by Schaldenbrand with twenty-two. On the defensive side,
Taylor Sorg had a team-high three blocks, while
Jacey Blust recorded eighteen digs for the Warriors.
The Warriors next travel to Grand Rapids to take on Aquinas College in a Friday night match on October 21. The Warriors swept the last meeting between the two schools on September 24, 2022.
