FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The men's soccer team played host to the Madonna University Crusaders on Wednesday night at the Warrior Athletic Field. A second-half goal put the Crusaders ahead, and the Warriors could not find the equalizer, falling 1-0. The loss moves Tech to 9-2-5 on the season with a 7-1-2 record in the WHAC.
Neither team was able to find the net in the first half. Tech recorded eight shots in the first forty-five minutes forcing six saves from the Crusader keeper. Madonna fired four shots, with two finding the target forcing saves from
Jaume Salvado.
Madonna broke the tie in the 51
st minute. Salvado made the initial save, but Ryota Nakajima was there for the rebound, finding the back of the net to put the Crusaders up 1-0. The Warriors took another ten shots in the second half, five on target, but could not find the net.
Tech will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday to take on the Saints of Aquinas College. The most recent game on November 10, 2021, was a 1-1 draw that Tech advanced on penalties 6-5.
