FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team hosted the Harriers of Miami University (Hamilton) Tuesday afternoon in the Schaefer Center. Tech got off to a hot start leading the game at half 46-24 and winning with an 88-47 final score. Tech moves to 2-1 on the season after the win.
Kyra Whitaker led the way for Tech scoring 25 points while shooting 8-14 from the field and 5-11 from behind the three-point line; she also added 5 assists. Juliana Burris recorded 18 points in her 27 minutes today, shooting 6-7 from the floor and going a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line. Burris brought down 9 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.
Erika Foy, Taylor Covington, and
Genevieve Decker rounded out the starters for the Warriors, scoring 12, 9, and 7, respectively. Tech shot 56.9% from the field while going 36.4% from three-point land and 87.5% at the charity stripe.
Tech is back in action this weekend when they host the Warrior Classic starting Friday, November 4 at 6:00 PM when they take on Saint Xavier University (Ill.). A Rochester Olivet Nazarene matchup follows that game. Saturday, Rochester and St. Xavier kick things off at 1:00 PM, followed by Indiana Tech vs. Olivet Nazarene.
