MARION, Ind. – On Tuesday night, the Indiana Tech women's basketball team traveled south to take on the Wildcats of Indiana Wesleyan University in Lucky Arena. The Warriors were looking for their first win over the Wildcats and found that as they came out on top with a 74-71 win. The win helps improve Tech's record to 6-2 and 1-1 in the conference.
Tech was led by
Kyra Whitaker, scoring 25 points while shooting 7-13 from the field and knocking down 6 threes. She also added 1 rebound and 2 assists. Juliana Burris shot 4-10 on the night scoring 12 points and dishing out 1 assist.
Erika Foy recorded a double-double for the Warriors last night, scoring 10 points while grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds. Taylor Covington led the team in assists, recording 7 while scoring 8 points. Tech shot 51.1% from the floor on the night while going 7-16 from behind the three-point line.
The Warriors will go to Lawrence Tech Saturday, November 19, to take on the Blue Devils in a WHAC matchup. Tech is 16-5 in the series falling to the Blue Devils in the last meeting with a 55-58 final score.
