FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 15 ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team hosted the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles in the Schaefer Center Wednesday evening for a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference matchup. The Warriors were dominant in their performance tonight to help guide them to a 112-74 win over the Golden Eagles. Tech improves to 9-2 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.
The Golden Eagles opened the scoring with a three-point field goal from Maddison Fulks. Taylor Covington answered with a three of her own to level the score. Jaxi Long hit a jumper to put the Eagles back in front before a
Bethany Worm layup leveled the score.
Kyra Whitaker gave Tech the lead with a free throw, a lead they wouldn't surrender for the remainder of the game.
The Orange and Black shot 62.3% from the floor tonight while knocking down 12 threes on 26 attempts.
Kyra Whitaker led the Warriors in scoring with 22 while making 7 of her 13 shots; she also added 2 rebounds and 6 assists.
Erika Foy went 9-11 for 20 points on the night while bringing down 11 rebounds for a double-double and added 3 assists.
Genevieve Decker was a spark off the bench scoring 14 points for Tech. Juliana Burris led the team in assists with 8 while scoring 12 points in her 24 minutes.
Tech is back in action Saturday, December 3
rd, when they take on the UM-Dearborn Wolverines on the road. The tip-off for the matchup is set for noon. Tech has won twelve straight over the Wolverines with an 85-63 final in their most recent matchup on January 22, 2022.
