FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 15 ranked Indiana Tech men's hockey team partook in a weekend series with the Cardinals of Concordia University (Mich.). Winning both games in the series with scores of 3-1 and 5-1, the Warriors improve to 10-2 on the season and 7-1 in WHAC play.
Tech was on the road in Canton, Michigan, for the first matchup with the Cardinals. Concordia scored in the first period on a Power Play goal from Quinn Bieniek with assists from Kyle Hebner and Nicholas Twombley. Tech broke through in the second period, with
Alex Potter beating the keeper to put the game level with assists from Avery Smith and
Malik Ali. The Warriors found the net twice in the third period. The first goal came from
TJ Dougan on assists from
Alex Arnold and
Brandon Plummer, and goal number two was from
Colton Nikiforuk, with Avery Smith and
Malik Ali getting their second assists.
Braedyn Funke faced 18 shots while he was in goal, saving 17.
Game two of the weekend series was back in Fort Wayne at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse. Tech jumped out to an early lead scoring three goals before the Cardinals could notch one back. The Warriors would find the net two more times to end the game with a 5-1 victory.

Tech is back in action on Friday, November 11, when they travel to Dearborn, Michigan, to kick off their weekend series with UM-Dearborn. On Saturday the 12th, the Warriors will host the Wolverines in Fort Wayne to close the series. Tech is 9-13 all-time winning their latest matchup 6-1.
