FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team hosted the Lourdes University Gray Wolves on Wednesday afternoon for the opening round of the 2022 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament. Tech won the first two meetings in the regular season, looking for a third win to move on in the tournament. After a slow start and dropping the first two sets with scores of 17-25 and 22-25, the Warriors battled back, winning the following three sets with scores of 26-24, 26-24, and 15-2 to advance to the semi-finals of the WHAC tournament.
After posting attacking percentages of .121 and .000 in the first two sets, Tech found its footing by posting.205, .238, and .409 percentages in the final three sets. Tech put down 61 kills as a team, led by
Noelle VanOort with 18 followed by
Taylor Paul with 15. Tech served 5 aces led by
Kelsey Schaldenbrand with 2. Schaldenbrand also led the Warriors with 26 assists in the five sets.
Jacey Blust led the team with 36 digs and
Havilyn Cummings had 5.0 blocks.
Tech moves on in the WHAC tournament and will take on the winner of the Siena Heights vs. Aquinas game on Friday, November 11.
