ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The No. 15-Ranked Indiana Tech Warriors continue to thrive on the road, taking down WHAC opponent Rochester University with a final score of 86-66. The Warriors are undefeated on the road this season and have pushed their winning streak to seven.
The Warriors trailed early in the first quarter and went back and forth until the final 3-minutes. Tech was able to pull ahead with a 21-14 lead going into the second quarter. The Warriors only built on this lead moving forward into the half and third quarter. Tech's largest lead came in the fourth quarter, leading by as much as 20 points.
The Warriors shot 56% from the field and 63% from the free-throw line to contribute to the win. Key components to Tech's continued success on the road included
Erika Foy's double-double consisting of 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists. Covington also led all scoring for both sides, sitting at 22 points. Decker (12 points) and Whitaker (12 points) were both in double-digit scoring for the Warriors and had a combined 13 assists. The Warriors dominated the paint outscoring Rochester with a 44-38 advantage, and took care of business rebounding for second-chance points.
The Warriors continue their road stretch Monday, December 19, taking on Indiana University Northwest for a 3 PM tip-off in Gary, Indiana. The Warrior's last match-up with IU-Northwest was on December 19, 2020, where they defeated the RedHawks by 19 points.
