GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's hockey team was in Grand Rapids, Michigan, over the weekend to take on Calvin University in a two-game series. Calvin hosted both games on Friday and Saturday, with the Warriors winning. Game one had a 5-2 final, while game two finished 5-1.
Cam Chabot got the Warriors going in game one, finding the net twice in the first period with his first goal assisted by
TJ Dougan and
Axel Low. Also scoring for the Warriors were
Wil Campbell,
Malik Ali, and
Matej Krasny. Tech recorded eight assists in the game, coming from
TJ Dougan,
Axel Low,
Cam Chabot,
Alex Potter,
Timothy Washburn,
Aidan Dufort,
Colton Nikiforuk, and
Malik Ali.
Ty Barnhill played in the net for the Warriors posting 30 saves in the 60 minutes.
The Warriors used the same blueprint in game two finding the net five times for the second day in a row with goals coming from
Matej Krasny (2),
Malik Ali,
Cam Chabot, and
Avery Smith. Also finding the score sheet with assists were Krasny, Chabot,
Luke Anderson,
Colton Nikiforuk, and Ali.
Ty Barnhill played all 60 minutes in the goal for the Warriors, recording 26 saves.
The Warriors will take on the Roosevelt University Lakers in a two-game series starting December 9
th at 7:30 PM in Fort Wayne. Game two will be in Bensenville, Illinois, on Saturday, December 10
th.
