FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Tech men's basketball team showed why they are the #1 seed in the WHAC Tournament, dominating an out-matched UNOH squad, 85-52 on Wednesday night.
Despite leading scorer and rebounder,
Grant Smith, being out,
Ted Albert had several other players step up in his absence. It was the freshman,
Blake Davison, who came off the bench and lit the Racers up for a career-high 21 points, including four made triples.
Rog Stein was too tough to handle for UNOH, dropping 20 points of his own to go along with five rebounds.
Lucas Lehrman came off the bench, scoring 13 points in just 14 minutes, including two thunderous jams.
Cory McKinney and
Steve Helm each contributed six points, with McKinney recording a career-high in steals with five.
Max Perez started in place of Smith, scoring five points, including one made three-pointer.Â
The Orange and Black turned the Racers over 14 times, scoring 20 points off turnovers. Indiana Tech also did what they've done all season, dominate inside, out-scoring the Racers 42-22 in the paint. The Warrior bench went absolutely off, scoring 44 points on the night, only eight behind UNOH's total team number of 52.Â
Indiana Tech (25-6) will advance to the semifinal round of the WHAC Tournament, as they'll host the Lourdes Gray Wolves (22-7), whom they split the season series with, this Saturday at the Schaefer Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.Â
