Warriors Take Two in Kansas Road Trip

ATCHISON & OTTAWA, Kan. – The No. 7-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team got in the win column over the weekend with a 14-10 win over No. 10-ranked Benedictine College and a 16-7 victory over Ottawa University.

The Ravens controlled the action in the first quarter, outscoring the Warriors 4-2, including three straight goals in a 2:10 stretch that put them ahead 4-1. The Warriors fought back in the second with three goals to tie the game up at 5-5, but the hosts entered the locker room leading 7-5 thanks to a goal with three seconds left on the clock.
 
Andrew Ryan got the offense going at the 9:07 mark in the third that sparked a 6-0 run in the quarter, including one at the buzzer from Josh Bramley that put the visitors up 11-7 with 15 minutes to play. Nate Langille extended the lead to 12-7 just under three minutes into the fourth quarter and the Ravens never got within four goals as Tech won its first game of the season.
 
Ryan and Bramley both notched a hat trick while the former added two assists and a pair of ground balls while the latter also tallied an assist. Tom Piotrowski had 10 ground balls while going 15-23 in the face-off zone. Kyle TwoBulls made 10 saves in his first career start in the cage to notch the win.

The two teams traded goals over the first half of the opening period, but the Warriors scored twice in the final four minutes to hold a 5-3 lead at the first intermission, with Bramley finding the back of the cage with 16 seconds left on the clock. Ryan started a 5-2 scoring advantage in the second with his second goal of the day at the 10:04 mark as Tech led 10-5 at the half. The Orange and Black were firing on all cylinders in the third as they outscored the Braves 5-0 to extend their lead to 15-5 and erased any hopes on a comeback from Ottawa.
 
Ryan tallied four more goals and three ground balls while Langille had three goals, two assists, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Emmett Coleman had six ground balls and two caused turnovers while Chad Nedbal made 13 saves in the cage to pick up the win.
 
Tech (2-1) returns to action on Saturday, March 5 as they travel to No. 8-ranked William Penn University. Opening face-off is set for 2 p.m. ET from Statesmen Community Stadium.
