Warriors Notch Fourth Straight Win with Rout of Patriots

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team won its fourth straight game Friday evening as they defeated No. 3-ranked University of the Cumberlands, 13-5, inside the UC Lacrosse Complex.

Louis Czech had a game-high four goals and two assists while adding three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Tom Piotrowski had five ground balls, five caused turnovers and was 3-4 in the face-off zone while Kyle TwoBulls made 10 saves in the cage to improve to 3-0 on the season.

It took to the 3:58 mark for the Warriors to score as Samuel Bodley got Tech on the scoreboard first, but it didn't take long for the offense to get going after that with the visitors scoring two more times before the end of the quarter to take a 3-0 lead. The Patriots cut the deficit to 3-1 with a goal 14 seconds into the second, but the Orange and Black responded with a 5-1 run to push the lead to 8-2 at the half, with Czech scoring twice in the final five minutes.

Czech pushed the advantage to 11-2 at the 11:02 mark in the third before three more Warrior goals made it a 12-2 game with 6:34 left in the quarter. Cumberlands scored three straight goals to cut the deficit to 12-5, but managed to get off just five total shots in the fourth and never truly threatened the Warriors who improved to 4-0 all-time against UC.

Tech (4-1) will not return to the field until March 26 when they open conference play against Lawrence Tech in their home opener. Opening face-off is set for 5 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
