Warriors Fail to Put Out Fire

LAKELAND, Fla. - The Indiana Tech softball team dropped two games against No. 21-ranked Southeastern on Monday afternoon at SEU Softball Field. The Warriors fell by scores of 6-0 and 6-5 (8 innings).

Game 1 | Indiana Tech 0, Southeastern 6

The Warriors couldn't get on the board in the first contest. Hannah Middlebrooks pitched 3 innings, striking out one batter, Jaden Romero and Shaelin Bruner saw action as well, combining to strike out three batters. Meagan Barton and Micaela Iacovetti each recorded hits in the loss.

Game 2 | Indiana Tech 5, Southeastern 6

After giving up four runs in innings two and three, the Orange and Black stormed back, regaining the lead in the seventh inning before a sacrifice fly won the game for the Fire. Megan Berlin singled home Ashley Alvey in the 4th, Karra Leeger-Capraro homered to center field in the 6th, where Emma Kelley brought home Carly Basham on a sac fly and Maire Trouba brought home Megan Berlin. In the seventh inning, Leeger-Capraro doubled home Alvey, which would be the Warriors final run. Alvey pitched 7.2 innings, striking out six Fire batters. 

Indiana Tech (4-10) will continue their Florida stretch as they'll take today off before playing a doubleheader against Keiser (9-11-1) in West Palm Beach with first pitch being scheduled at 2:00 PM ET.
