Warriors Tie Program Record With 13th Straight Win

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team won its 13th straight game Wednesday evening as they defeated the University of Michigan-Dearborn 19-4 on Senior Night at Warrior Athletic Field. The win also locks up a share of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season title with the Warriors holding a one-game lead over Aquinas College heading into the final games of the regular season Saturday.

Nate Langille led both teams with six goals while Andrew Ryan had five goals and three assists. Samuel Bodley had nine ground balls, Tom Piotrowski had three caused turnovers while Aaron Adams won five face-offs. Chad Nedbal made nine saves in the cage to pick up the win.

After the start of the game was delayed 30 minutes due to travel issues with the officials, it took the Warriors a bit to get their offense going, but Samuel Bodley put the Orange and Black ahead with 3:59 to play in the first before Ryan made it a 2-0 game with 2:36 left in the period. A pair of goals by Louis Czech and Josh Bramley pushed the lead to 4-0 with 12:57 to go in the second and force a timeout by the visitors.

UM-Dearborn got on the board just 36 seconds later as Nolan Kelly scored his NAIA-leading 53rd goal of the season, but the Orange and black went on a 5-0 run over the final nine minutes of the half to take a commanding 9-1 lead into the locker room.

Tech kept up the dominance in the second half as they outscored the Wolverines 10-3, including four goals over the final 6:15 of the third to make it a 14-3 game with 15 minutes to play.

Tech (13-0, 8-0 WHAC) wraps up the regular season Saturday as they travel to Concordia University. Opening faceoff is set for 4 p.m. from Cardinal Stadium.
