UPLAND, Ind. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to eight games Wednesday afternoon as they defeated conference foe Taylor University 22-3 at the Taylor Lacrosse Field.
Nate Langille tied his career-high for goals with six while adding two assists, two ground balls and a caused turnover while
Devin Macomber added a hat trick with three ground balls.
Andrew Ryan had a team-best six ground balls while adding two goals and a pair of assists.
Dallen Wirtz went 6-10 in the face-off zone while
Jalen Carr made two saves in the cage to pick up the win.
Ryan put the Warriors on the board first as they converted on the man-up opportunity with 9:24 to play in the first. Taylor came right back and scored just 33 seconds later, but Tech scored twice in the final four minutes thanks to
Joe Solin and Langille to take a 3-1 lead into the first quarter break.
Ryan notched his second goal of the game, also on the power play, with 11:02 to go in the second and making it a 5-1 game. Tech turned up the offense in the final four minutes of the half by scoring three times, including twice in the final 92 seconds, to take a commanding 11-2 lead into the locker room.
The Warriors came out on the offensive attack in the third with seven goals as they increased their lead to 18-2 and never gave the Trojans a shot at the comeback.
Tech (8-1, 4-0 WHAC) returns to action Saturday as they host Siena Heights University. Opening face-off is set for 4 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
