WINONA LAKE, Ind. -- The Indiana Tech women's soccer team opened the
Andrea Gorton era with a narrow 2-0 loss at No. 24 Grace College Monday night. The hosts nabbed a goal in each half, the first coming in the 13th minute on an unassisted strike from JJ Albue. GC closed out the result in the 86th, with Danae Moriarity setting up Janni Bettin for the game's final tally.
The Warriors (0-1) registered two shots on the night, one each from
Danielle Dunn and
Jordan Brown-Mundey.
Michaela Bitle went the distance in goal, stopping nine of Grace's 11 shots on goal.
Tech will enjoy a 16-day layoff before traveling to University Park, Ill., for a match with Governor's State on Wednesday, Sept. 7. The Warriors won the only previous meeting in the series, a 3-0 shutout on August 23, 2019.
