FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Warriors women's volleyball team hosted the Cardinals from Concordia University (Mich.) in the Schaefer Center Wednesday night. The Warriors started hot in set one and continued their form throughout the match. Tech won all three with scores of, 25-14, 25-19, and 25-13, leading Concordia in attacking percentage for the night .313-.067. Tech as a team had 34 kills whereas Concordia had 22. The Warriors also led every other category tonight with 10-2 aces, 8-1 blocks, 32-22 assists, and 49-37 digs.
The Warrior offense was led by
Noelle VanOort and
Emma Westra with 11 and 7 kills.
Kelsey Schaldenbrand recorded 3 aces while VanOort and Mayes both had 2.
Havilyn Cummings led the way with 3 blocks,
Andrea Schriver recorded 13 assists while
Jacey Blust tallied 15 digs.
Tech remains undefeated in the
Matt Fishman era, currently holding a record of 14-0 in all competitions and 2-0 in conference play.
The Warriors head on the road for their next match. They are traveling to Dearborn, Michigan, for their contest against the University of Michigan-Dearborn on September 16. Tech is 28-1 in the matchup all time, with their lone loss coming in their first meeting back on September 22, 2006. Their most recent matchup was a 3-2 win at home on October 30, 2021. The Warriors look to push their win streak against UofM-Dearborn to 29 matches.
