LIVONIA, Mich. – The Tech women's volleyball team was in Michigan on Saturday for the second day in a row, taking on the Madonna University Crusaders. The Warriors extended their winning streak with a 3-2 win (20-25, 25-9, 24-26, 26-24, 15-8), which improved their record to 16-0.
The Warriors completed the day with an attacking percentage of .257. The Crusaders posted a .227 percentage.
Emma Westra led the Warriors with eleven kills, and
Noelle VanOort and
Taylor Paul had ten in the win. Tech served thirteen aces as a team, with VanOort contributing five,
Jacey Blust adding three, and
Kelsey Schaldenbrand two.
Taylor Sorg led the team in blocks posting four, and
Jacqueline Allaway had three. The Warrior's setters,
Andrea Schriver and
Kelsey Schaldenbrand, led the assist category with twenty-five and nineteen, respectively. Blust added eleven digs.
On Wednesday, the Warriors continue their road stretch in Sylvania, Ohio, traveling to take on Lourdes University. The series between the two is knotted at 10-10, with the most recent game being played on October 13, 2021, in Sylvania, Ohio. The last meeting resulted in a 1-3 loss for the Warriors. They look to right the ship and continue their perfect season Wednesday night.
