FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Women's volleyball took on Aquinas College Saturday in the Schaefer Center. After their first defeat Friday night to Cornerstone, the Warriors looked to bounce back in their matchup with Aquinas. They did just that, taking a 3-0 sweep over the visiting Saints in 29-27, 25-22, 25-21 fashion. With the win, Tech improves to 18-1 on the season and 6-1 against conference opponents.
Team leaders for the Warriors were
Taylor Paul with ten kills, and
Emma Westra had nine.
Noelle VanOort and
Jacey Blust both served up three aces.
Andrea Schriver had eighteen assists, while
Kelsey Schaldenbrand added nine. VanOort, Schaldenbrand, and Blust all contributed nine digs in their defensive efforts. The Warrior's performance was all about bending, not breaking, and taking each point one at a time. They showed that in the first set, being down 22-24 with their backs against the wall coming back to win 29-27.
Tech is back in action Friday, September 30, when they travel to Southfield, Michigan, to take on the Blue Devils of Lawrence Tech. The Warriors have taken the last four meetings between the two schools, the most recent being a 3-0 win on October 22, 2021.
