FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Tech men's tennis team (1-0) rewarded new head coach
Matt Coomer with a 5-2 Labor Day win over Goshen College (Ind.) to start his Tech career. The Warriors won two of three doubles matches and then posted four singles wins to kick off the 2022-23 campaign with victory. Peter Sinclair teamed up with
Callum Partington to top GC at No. 1 doubles and then earned a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles, while
Kayra Kargin also won singles and doubles matches, partnering with
Juan Avellaneda at No. 3 doubles before easing to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.
Michel Zobel (No. 1 singles) and Raybin Chan (No. 4 singles) posted Tech's other match victories Monday afternoon - Zobel in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) and Chan in a tiebreaker after splitting the first two sets with his Maple Leaf counterpart.
