FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Warrior women's tennis team opened the 2022-23 season with a 7-0 sweep of Goshen College (Ind.) at Swinney Tennis Center on Labor Day. The win gives
Matt Coomer his first as Tech's head coach and is the Warriors sixth-straight victory over the Maple Leafs, dating back to September 2016.
Tech needed only two matches to earn the doubles point as the
Abigail Simms / Thaina Carvahlo and
Arianna Calcatelli /
Semmie Moore combos cruised to 6-4 and 6-2 wins, respectively, to open the contest. Singles play followed a similar pattern with only
Roshne Arunkumar dropping a set before winning the No. 1 singles match in the tiebreaker. Simms did not surrender a game, winning 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2, while
