FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., and FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Indiana Tech swept a weekend home-and-home with Lawrence Tech, winning 3-0 on the road Friday and 2-1 at the SportONE Parkview Icehouse Saturday. Tech extends its perfect home record to 13-0 and owns an 18-game win streak overall, having last lost a game in late October. The Tech lead atop the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference stretched to six points over second-place LTU, still with two games in hand.
On Friday, reigning WHAC Defensive Player of the Week
Braedyn Funke turned away 28 Blue Devil shots for his second-straight shutout between the pipes.
Matej Krasny staked the Warriors to a 1-0 lead just 1:42 into the contest, assisted by
Alex Arnold and
Wil Campbell on the power play. Tech continued to flex some special-teams muscle for two second-period power-play goals from
Malik Ali at 16:13 and
Avery Smith at 4:57, with helpers from
Cole Barney,
Mitchell Forton, and
Alex Potter (2). The Warriors also killed off six penalties to preserve the shutout.
Cam Chabot, this week's WHAC Offensive Player of the Week, stayed hot, scoring both Tech goals Saturday, one in each of the first two periods, the second a power-play strike.
Fabian Granqvist and Krasny set up the opener, with Granqvist earning his second point of the night on the eventual game-winner at 17:16 (2nd).  Tech again killed off all three LTU power players, including one of the 10-minute variety in the second stanza.
Ty Barnhill stood up to 33 LTU shots, surrendering just one goal.
Tech closes out the regular season with three WHAC series over the coming three weekends, starting with a set against fourth-place Concordia University Feb. 3 and 4.
