LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Indiana Tech men's wrestling team finished sixth at the NWCA National Duals, held at the Kentucky Expo Center that took place Friday and Saturday. Tech defeated Baker (Kan.) 43-5, the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) 25-14, and Reinhardt (Ga.) 30-12. While falling to Doane University 19-13 and Marian University 21-18.
The Warriors started the duals strong with a 43-5 win over Baker University (Kan.).

Kyle Kantola,
Nate Wheeler,
Griffin Bekish,
Eric Vermillion,
Jacob Brandt, and
Cameron Mayes-Butler all won their match for the Warriors to lift the team to a 43-5 victory to start the event.
Tech would drop their next Dual to Doane 13-19 but Matt Gimson,
Nate Wheeler,
Eric Vermillion, and
Nathan Critchfield highlighted Tech winning their matches via a 3-2 decision for Gimson, a 2-0 decision for Wheeler, 11-0 major decision for Vermillion, and 10-4 decision for Critchfield.
In their dual with the Cumberlands (Ky.)
Nate Wheeler and
Jacob Brandt won via Fall while
Eric Vermillion earned 4 points for an 8-0 major decision and Anthony, Kanotla, and Mayes-Butler earned 3 points apiece for a win via decision.
In their win over Reinhardt Vermillion and Brandt won via fall while Gimson, Kantola, Gates, Wheeler,
Landon Buchanan, and Mayes-Butler won via decision to earn the 30-12 victory.
In their final match of the event, Tech faced Marian University who were able to get past the Warriors in a 21-18 final.
Braydon Erb won his match via fall,
Corey Cavanaugh won via forfeit, and Wheeler and Vermillion won their matches via decision.
Tech is back in action on January 14
th in North Manchester, Indiana, for the Spartan Mat Classic hosted by Manchester University.
