SYLVANIA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team picked up their first win in WHAC play this season with a 3-0 thrashing over Lourdes University on Wednesday evening.
The Warriors got back to winning ways for the first time since September 9
th and they did so in a big way. Tech saw the ball go into the back of the net just 2:08 minutes into the game thanks to senior
Danielle Dunn, which brought a much-needed confidence to the squad. Dunn would strike again for the Warriors, scoring her second goal of the game in under 19 minutes of action, helping the Warriors build a 2-0 halftime lead. In the second half, the Warriors would continue to stay on the offensive, not allowing Lourdes back into the game. Tech would outshoot the Gray Wolves six to five in the second half, with
Madison Carver making in the difference in the final seconds when she let one fly from just inside the halfway line after taking the ball from a desperate Lourdes goalkeeper way out of her net. Carver would put the exclamation mark on the Warriors big win with her wonder strike from just over 50 yards away to finish off the Gray Wolves 3-0.
Abbie Hulme would record an assist in the game on Dunn's second goal and
Michaela Bitle would pick up her fourth shutout of the season, making five saves in the contest.
The Warriors now improve to 1-4-1 in WHAC play and 3-8-1 overall. Tech will host Siena Heights for their senior day Saturday, October 14
th at 3:00pm.
