NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – The Indiana Tech women's hockey team traveled to Niagara Falls, New York, for a two-game series with Niagara University. After a 1-0 overtime win on Friday, the Warriors scored 7 on Saturday to win 7-3 and leave the Empire State with 2 wins. Tech remains perfect on the year as they move to 8-0-0.
On Friday, there was little that either team could do to separate from the other as they played the first three periods scoreless to force an overtime period.
Allison Greene found the winner 4:39 into the overtime period off assists from
Michelle Borland and
Lauren Younker to give the Warriors a 1-0 win.
Izzy Varner played all 64:39 in the net for the Orange and Black with 27 saves.
On Saturday, Tech found the net early with two goals from
Genessie Williams and
Allison Greene in the first period. Niagara pulled one back before the first intermission to go into the break with 2-1 on the scoreboard. The Warriors extended their lead in the second with goals from
Dakota Bowler and
Michelle Borland. Tech scored three more in the final period as
Genessie Williams and
Michelle Borland doubled their night's tally, and
Sophie Kuzminski found the scoresheet. Recording assists for the Orange and Black were

Tech prepares for Minot State as they host them for a two-game series starting Thursday at 3:00 p.m. before finishing the series on Friday with the puck drop scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
