GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team traveled to Georgetown, Kentucky, on Friday evening to take on RV Georgetown College in the Davis-Reid Alumni Gym. The Tigers proved too much for the Orange and Black as they took down the Warriors 74-49. Tech moves to 1-1 on the young season.
Georgetown opened the game scoring as they jumped to an early 4-0 lead and stretched their lead to 9, but a tip-in from
Juliana Burris as time expired saw the Warriors enter the first break trailing 10-17. Tech entered the second half looking to turn things around but were unsuccessful in their effort as they entered halftime trailing 32-22.
Tech's offensive struggles continued in the third quarter as they had trouble finding the net from the floor, and the Tigers stretched their lead, taking a 54-30 lead into the third-quarter break. The Warriors had a better offensive showing in the fourth quarter but were unable to overcome the lead the Tigers had established early in the game.
Erika Foy led the Warriors in scoring with 22 points while grabbing 5 rebounds, while
Taylor Covington added 7 points with 2 rebounds and 6 assists.
The Warriors host the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) for their first home game of the season on Wednesday, November 8
th, with the game scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
