FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's wrestling team began their 2023-24 conference campaign over the weekend with a dominant 60-0 win over the Cleary University Cougars inside the Doug Edgar Indoor Track Facility.
The Orange and Black opened the day with 18 points off wins via forfeit in the 125, 133, and 141 weight classes.
Chase Pluhar earned 6 points for Tech as he pinned Cleary's Carson Boisvert at 149 pounds. In the 157-lb match,
Nate Wheeler pinned Ty Johnson in 4:42 to pick up another 6 points for the Warriors.
Sam York took 6 points at 165 pounds with the fasted pin of the day over Alexander Bradsher in 0:44.
Griffin Bekish kept the trend going as he also won via fall over Lenton Patrick in 2:54. The 184-pound match was won by Tech's
Trevor Stuyvenberg, who pinned Wyatt Clements to take all 6 points. The 197 and 285 were won by the Warriors via forfeit to give them the final 12 points and led them to a 60-0 shutout victory over the Cougars.
The Warriors are back in action on January 5 in Cedar Fall, Iowa as they compete in the NWCA National Duals.
