SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Indiana Tech track and field team opened up the indoor portion of their season on Friday at Notre Dame and to say it went well would be a bit of an understatement. Over the course of three hours in South Bend, the team bagged a total of 18 NAIA standards, a school record, and multiple marks that will put individuals atop the national leader board.
Lisa Voyles grabbed headlines again, capturing with her ninth track and field school record. Her time of 9:46.70 in the 3000 meters topped a mark set by Alissa McKaig back in 2008 (9:50.20). Voyles now holds every indoor school record from 800 to 3000 meters.
Soyinne Grenyion was also on another level on Friday. Her 200/400 double (23.80/54.50) put her at #2 on the Tech all-time list in both events. Her marks would have been the #1 qualifying time in the nation for both events last year.

It was a limited squad that saw action in South Bend on Friday. Dozens of Warriors will make their collegiate and/or season debuts on Saturday at Purdue Fort-Wayne.
