FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 13 ranked Indiana Tech men's volleyball team played host to the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles in the Schaefer Center on Friday night. Tech continued their winning ways with a 3-1 victory over the Golden Eagles and improve to 4-4 on the season while maintaining a perfect run in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC), sitting at 3-0.
Tech took control of the match, winning the first two sets 26-24 and 25-23, but Cornerstone took one back as they won the third set 25-20. The Orange and Black closed the night by winning the fourth set with a 25-18 final score.
Tech put down 53 kills as a team led by
Daynte Stewart and
Mason Milan, who tallied 13 apiece.
Ben Rosenow served up the only two aces the Warriors recorded. At the net, Tech beat out Cornerstone in blocks sending back 10 to the Golden Eagles 6, with
Logan Gamero leading the charge with 5.0.
Brandon Jones recorded 44 of the Warriros' 51 assists, and
Joey Hermes led the team in digs with 10 of Tech's 34.
Tech takes on Aquinas College in their next match on Saturday in the Schaefer Center. This is the first of two meetings with the Saints this season, as the Warriors took the last meeting with a 3-2 final score on April 2, 2022.
