FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team beat the University of Michigan-Dearborn 97-69 on Wednesday night at Schaefer Center, where the Warriors had the lead on the score for 96% of the game. With tonight's win, Tech claims the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season title for the second year in a row and the third time in the last four years.
Michigan opened the score with a 3-point shot from Maurice Anderson, and this was the only time they could feel the taste of the win against Indiana Tech. The Warriors got the lead on the score after 1 minute and 30 seconds of action and kept it until the end.
The warriors' big men lead the team to the win.
Lucas Lehrman scored 16 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and added 2 blocks, while
Josh Kline scored 14 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and had 4 blocks. The Warriors' Twin Towers dominated the painted area in a game that Indiana Tech outscored Michigan-Dearborn by 52-16 in the paint.
Although Maurice Anderson scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, the Wolverines' efforts were not enough to avoid the loss in Fort Wayne.
Indiana Tech (24-3, 17-2) increased its winning streak to 9 games and now prepares for the last conference game next Saturday against Lourdes University at Schaefer Center.
