Warriors Win Puts Them Two Steps Away from WHAC Double

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Indiana Tech's collective game overcomes Gabe Overway and Aquinas College once again in a 95-80 win in the Schaefer Center on Wednesday night. The game was for the WHAC Tournament quarterfinals, and with the win, Indiana Tech is now 2 games away from completing the conference double (Regular Season and Tournament Championship).

Just like in the regular season games between Indiana Tech and Aquinas, we had an inspired Gabe Overway trying to lead Aquinas to the win. Overway scored 32 points in the previous clash between these two teams and had another great night, scoring 29 points while shooting 86% from the field.

Unfortunately for Overway, the Warriors' collective was able to find a way to get the win once again, just as in the previous match. Indiana Tech had 13 players scoring in the game and 37 bench points, while Aquinas had 6 players scoring and the reserves adding 10 points.

Grant Smith started the game by hitting a 3-point shot to put Indiana Tech ahead. Something that would not change for a single second during the entire match. The Warriors kept the lead the whole time, reaching an advantage of 22 points in the second half and finishing the game with a 15-point win.

After scoring the first bucket of the game, Smith did not stop and left the court with 19 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds while shooting 66% from the field. Blake Davison and Steve Helm were the other offensive highlights for the Warriors, adding 14 and 12 points, respectively.

With the win, Indiana Tech moves to the next round of the WHAC Tournament and prepares to face Rochester University in Fort Wayne Saturday, with the game set to start at 3 PM.
