ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where
Rog Stein had a career game and led the Warriors to a 78-73 win on Saturday against the Concordia University Cardinals.
In an electric and balanced game, with 8 changes of lead on the scoreboard, Stein was the difference. Stein had 31 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block in 38 minutes on the court, leading the Warriors in all these stats.
The Warriors started slow in the game, which saw Concordia open an 18-point lead at the beginning of the first half. After only 7:25 played in the first half, the Cardinals were winning 24-6, led by Zac Clark and Kip French. The two finished the game combining for 45 points.
But Indiana Tech counted on a team that imposed itself in the paint and relied on the squad depth to get the win on the road. The Warriors outscored the Cardinals by 30 points in the paint (52-22), and the Warriors' reserves added 16 points, while Concordia reserves added 5 points for the Cardinals. The team effort led Tech to overcome an 18-point deficit and come back in Michigan to bring home the win.
After hitting the road in the last 2 games, Indiana Tech is returning home. The next challenge for the Warriors is next Wednesday, February 8, against Rochester University in the Schaefer Center.
