FORT WAYNE, Ind. – In a dominating performance on Senior Night, the Indiana Tech men's volleyball team defeated the Goshen College Maple Leafs 3-0 in the Schaefer Center on Tuesday night. The Warriors put on a clinic in front of their home crowd, outplaying Goshen in every facet of the game. The Warriors move to 16-7 on the season, currently sitting atop the WHAC with a 15-1 record.
The Warriors' offense was led by
Daynte Stewart, who recorded a game-high 11 kills, while
Dante Siracusa and
Raekwon Rogers chipped in with 7 and 6 kills, respectively. The trio of hitters consistently found ways to score against a struggling Goshen defense, which had no answer for Indiana Tech's potent attack.
Indiana Tech also controlled the service game, with
Mario Capo and
Jacob Carrico combining for 5 aces. Capo led the team with 3 aces, while Carrico added 2.
Daynte Stewart also contributed with an ace of his own, rounding out the Warriors' impressive service game.
The Warriors' defense was equally impressive, led by
Raekwon Rogers, who recorded a game-high 5 blocks.
Mason Milan and
Dante Siracusa added 3 and 2 blocks, respectively, as Indiana Tech made life difficult for Goshen's hitters at the net.
Brandon Jones orchestrated the offense with precision, recording 31 assists, while
Joey Hermes chipped in with 2 assists of his own. Defensively, Hermes led the team with 14 digs, while
Daynte Stewart and
Mario Capo added 2 digs each.
The Warriors enter the final weekend of the regular season as they host Lourdes University on Friday night. The first serve is set for 7:00 PM.
