HOWELL, Mich. – On Sunday, the Warriors traveled to Howell, Michigan to take on Cleary University in a WHAC doubleheader that saw Tech take both games to move to 4-0 in conference play.
The first game of the day was highlighted by Tech's freshman pitcher Savannah Bravo. She pitched a seven-inning complete game shutout on her way to her eighth win of the season. She only gave up four hits on the day and struck out seven Cougar batters in the process. Katie O'Drobinak led the Warrior's offensive efforts, going two-for-three at the plate with a walk, RBI, and run scored in the game. Madisyn Miller also stepped up for the Warriors as a pinch hitter with an RBI single to add an insurance run, as Tech would win the game 2-0.
In game two, Indiana Tech's offense showed up big, smashing ten runs on the Cougars in the 10-1 rout of Cleary. Kennedi Sullivan and Jordan Dippel led the way with three hits a piece in the game, while also picking up one and two RBIs respectively. O'Drobinak had the highlight of the game with a three-run blast in the top of the fourth inning. The Warriors pitching shutdown the Cougars again in game two, this time by committee with both Karra Leeger-Capraro and Miller pitching in the game. Leeger-Capraro started the game, going four innings and giving up just two hits and no runs, earning her the win. Miller pitching in relief went three innings, giving up six hits and one run.
With the sweep, Indiana Tech moves to 24-4 overall and 4-0 in the WHAC. Up next is a home doubleheader against Rochester University (Mich.) on Wednesday, March 29th at 3:30 and 5:30 pm at Warrior Park.
