FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Tuesday night, fans gathered at the Warrior Baseball Field to watch a non-conference doubleheader between the Warriors and the Indiana University Kokomo Cougars. The first game saw the Warriors come out on top with a thrilling 7-4 win. The Warrior's offense wasn't done yet, as they put up 10 runs in the second game to win 10-4. The Warriors move to 22-9 on the season and remain 8-6 in conference play.
Highlighting the Warrior offense were
Jayden Reed,
Parker Bates, and
Alex Watkins. Reed was 2 for 4 at the dish with 1 RBI. Bates went 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs via a three-run shot to left-center. Watkins had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 2 RBIs.
Jesse Burch threw 3 innings and earned the win allowing 1 hit and 0 runs while striking out 3.
Tech kept things rolling in game two as they started the first inning by scoring 7 runs, which proved to be all they needed to secure the win.
Nolan McKim had a hot bat in game two, going 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI triple and a solo home run.
Nick Miller went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and a run, while
Micah O'Donnell went 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs.
Coley Stevens started for the Warriors and got the win throwing 4.1 innings while allowing 5 hits and 4 runs (3 earned) while striking out 4.
Next, the Warriors host the University of Michigan-Dearborn for a conference doubleheader on Saturday, with the first pitch set for 1:00 PM.
