FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team kicked off its senior night on Saturday evening in a 19-4 blowout victory over WHAC opponent, Madonna University (Mich.). Six seniors were honored during the senior night festivities including the likes of
Sam Anderson,
Tom Piotrowski,
Emmett Coleman,
Payton Kelm,
Nate Langille, and
Khanan Bodley.
The Warriors led 6-1 after the first quarter of play and scored eight of the first nine goals of the game. By halftime, the Tech lead had ballooned to nine as they led 12-3. The second half showed more of the same as the orange and black outscored the Crusaders 7-1, going on to win by a final of 19-4. Langille, a senior from Lindenhurst, Illinois, along with Bodley, a senior from Chesterfield, Michigan, led the Warriors on offense with six points apiece. Langille finished the game with a hat-trick in both goals and assists, while also picking up a game high ten ground balls. Bodley led the Warriors with fours assists, while also netting two goals, picking up four ground balls, and causing two turnovers. Coleman, a senior from Fenton, Missouri had an all-around game for Tech. The midfielder picked up three ground balls and caused one turnover, while also scoring two goals. Senior defenders, Anderson, a native of Naperville, Illinois, Piotrowski, a native of Brookfield, Wisconsin, and Kelm, a native of Edmond, Oklahoma, all played a big role in shutting down the Crusaders offense, holding them to just four goals on the day. Anderson and Piotrowski both picked up four ground balls and caused three turnovers, while Kelm had one caused turnover and three ground balls.
Devin Macomber also had an impressive day for the Warriors with six goals and seven ground balls. Other notable numbers in the game were
Sebastien Guillaume's six caused turnovers and
Tristan McKneely's seven ground balls. Goalie,
Kyle TwoBulls made seven saves in net, earning his eleventh win of the season.
Sam Siebert also played well in net for Tech in the fourth quarter, making three saves.
Indiana Tech moves to 11-3 on the season and 5-1 in WHAC play. The Warriors currently sit in second place in the WHAC, trailing Concordia University (Mich.) by a game with two games to go. Tech will travel to Southfield, Michigan to take on Lawrence Tech University on Wednesday, April 19
th at 6 pm before heading to Grand Rapids, Michigan on Saturday, April 22
nd in their regular season finale against Aquinas College.
