FORT WAYNE, Ind. – On a sunny Saturday afternoon, the Warriors' women's lacrosse team geared up to play Madonna University (Mich.) in a day honoring Tech's three seniors,
Halli Reinhard,
Abbey Wilson, and
Jordan Donally, where they were recognized for their time spent at Indiana Tech during halftime of today's 19-7 victory.
The Warriors controlled the game from the start, with Wilson opening up senior day with a goal just 52 seconds into the game. Wilson, a graduate student from Columbus, Ohio, had an impressive stat line in her final regular season home game with a hat-trick of goals, one assist, six ground balls, two draw controls, and one caused turnover. Reinhard, a graduate student from Hilliard, Ohio, also had an impressive day on the turf, scoring a hat-trick, causing five turnovers, picking up four ground balls, and winning six draw controls. Donally, a senior defender from Haslett, Michigan, was pivotal in shutting down the Crusaders offense. She scored her second goal of the season in the win, while also picking up two ground balls. Sister and teammate,
Faith Donally, led the orange and black in points and goals, with eight total points, six goals, and two assists in the win.
Brooke Buhr and
Brook Maul also had notable games for the Warriors. Buhr ended the day with five points, two goals, three assists, three draw controls, one ground ball, and one caused turnover. Maul led the Warriors with six ground balls, while also causing three turnovers.
Sydney Oberdorfer picked up her eighth win of the season in net for Tech, making 13 saves.
Indiana Tech will now turn its attention toward the WHAC postseason tournament, riding their five-game win streak. With the win the Warriors now sit at 9-4 overall and 6-3 in WHAC play, locking up the number four seed in the conference tournament, earning them a home game for the quarterfinal round. The quarterfinal matchup is set for Tuesday, April 18
th in Fort Wayne, Indiana at a time still to be determined. The Warriors now wait to find out which team they will face in the quarterfinals in the four vs. five matchup with the conclusion of the regular season later today.
