Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Warrior's historical 1439 days unbeaten streak in WHAC games came to an end on Saturday at Wildwood Racquet Club. In a duel for the first position in the WHAC, the Warriors lost 6-1 to (RV) Cornerstone, saw the opponent's open advantage on the WHAC standings, and the historical 3 years and 11 months unbeaten streak ended.
Cornerstone made history twice: finishing Indiana Tech's unbeaten streak and registering the school's first win against an NAIA Top-25 opponent.
In the doubles, each side won one of the matches played, with Criss Echavarria and
Ana Gomez winning the 2
nd doubles match for the Warriors. Unfortunately, Indiana Tech lost the doubles point, with Cornerstone winning the 3
rd doubles match by default.
Criss Echavarria scored the Warriors's single point in the game, the 3
rd singles match, but Cornerstone would win all the other singles to finish the match with a 6-1 on the scoreboard.
The Warriors do not have time to lament, with the next game going to be played tomorrow (April 2) against (RV) Marian University in Indianapolis.
