GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team wrapped up their regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 12-6 win on the road over Aquinas College.
Aquinas got on the board first just over a minute into the game, but Tech would rattle off the next eight goals to jump out to a big 8-1 lead at halftime. The Saints would come within four after scoring the first three goals of the second half, but the Warriors would hold off them off scoring four of the next six to come out with the 12-6 victory.
Devin Macomber and
Samuel Bodley led the way for the Warriors with six points each. Both Macomber and Bodley finished the game with hat-tricks in goals and assists.
Emmett Coleman also scored a hat-trick of goals and picked up an assist, while
Josh Bramley had a hat-trick of assists in the game.
Tom Piotrowski steer headed the Warrior defense causing two turnovers and picking up six ground balls to lead all Warriors.
Sam Anderson and
Nick Craddock also caused two turnovers for Tech.
Kyle TwoBulls picked up the win in net for the Orange and Black, making 14 saves.
The Warriors will now turn their focus onto the WHAC Tournament. Indiana Tech earned the No. 2 seed after finishing with a 7-1 conference record, earning them a bye in the first round of the playoffs. The Warriors will play the winner of the first round matchup between No. 3 seed Siena Heights University (Mich.) and No. 6 seed Lawrence Tech University (Mich.). The Warriors will play at home on Thursday, April 27
th at 4 pm.
